![]() ![]() I could say lots of things about how HP really screwed up here but i will let others have fun with those comments. ![]() It was told that this was a known issue and a fix was coming. I was told to then do the following:įrom the control screen on the printer press the Home Key and back keys 2 times in order so: Home Back Home Back and then the device enable / disable screen will show up and scroll down to Scan and enable. After that failure I finally when to support and since it was new i could call and get support, After about 15 min of uninstalling and reinstalling and the tech trying to get me to scan the cloud (nope will not do that) it was reveled that many HP MFP devices were coming with Scanning disabled. Looking on the HP website, This printer was replacing a troublesome Xerox MFP device so was thinking that maybe the computer was the issue, so I installed on another computer. I look for a way to enable the scan feature via direct logon but could not find a solution. The error message below is what would show up on the computer screen The issue is it would not scan via USB or network connections only to USB key plugged into the USB port on the printer. ![]() I recently spent more time than i would like to admit trouble shooting scanning on a brand new out of the box HP LaserJet Pro MFP M428fdw device. ![]()
